Morgellons Skin Disease
Morgellons is a new Skin disease that is spreading worldwide these days - although most of the cases are currently occuring and are being identified in the United States.
Morgellons Skin Disease or Morgellons as it is called is a kind of skin disorder. Some people and dosctors say that this disease was first described more than 3 centuries back.
In general the disease is characterized by multi-colored fiber-like strands extruding from the skin in conjunction with various dermatologic and neuropsychiatric symptoms. This disease is currently not yet recognized as a new generic disease. Most patients are told by their doctor to visit a psychiatrist.
These multi-colored fiber like strands are referred to as filamentous and these will be in microscopic size, while others have the appearance of fibers and granules coming out of the skin that can be seen growing with the naked eye.
Symptoms
The most striking symptoms of Morgellons are lesions and coloured fibers growing out of them. These fibers can be pulled out with much force however this does not seem to stop further growth. Itching occurs which can so strong that some Morgellon sufferes have been reported to have committed suicide.
